Pricing information: New prices have been established effective February 1, 2009 to account for increased costs of library (freezer) maintenance and inflation.

All BAC/PAC genomic DNA library resources are offered to the academic scientific community on a cost-recovery basis. The increasing costs of labor, reagents and facilities have made it necessary to pass these costs on to the users of our resources. Therefore, effective February 1st 2009, the prices for clones, vectors and other products have been raised. See, the table below. For an explanation of costs and distribution of entire libraries, we refer to the distribution policy.

Note:

The genomic resources will be shipped by Fereral Express or DHL/Airborne Express on either recipient's or BACPAC's account.
Shipping cost is approximately $40 for domestic or $65+ for international. Additional charge applies for larger packages.
When fosmid clones are ordered together with BAC/PAC clones or vectors, the handling fee will be $100.

Library	Library copies for distribution are almost never in stock due to freezer-space limitations and may not be available at all. For availability, contact Pieter J. de Jong, (pdejong@chori.org); fax: (510)450-7924. If available, this will require planning of the library duplication and preferably pooling of multiple requests. Costs were 'historically' (for most of the last ten years) $20/dish multiplied by the total number of plates in the library. The costs will be higher in the future after January 2010 to reflect our increased freezer maintenance costs and the absence of subsidies for library maintenance. For planning purposes, we may be prepared to commit to a specific cost quotation with a defined expiration date. Please contact Pieter de Jong directly to inquire about availability and costs. An agreement prohibiting secondary distribution will be required. Only ship on the recipient's Federal Express or DHL/Airborne Express account. Must ship separately from filter set, vectors, and other clones. Overseas customer must sign the terms of accountability agreement. We suggest World Courier service for oversea delivery. The recipient must make arrangement with World Courier, then provide BACPAC with the courier job number and broker's name and phone number.
